Membership

Annual Membership is £10. We can now accept online payments by PayPal, including debit and credit cards. Donations are very welcome… just go to paypal.me/TheNorwoodSociety

The Norwood Society is a registered charity so we can boost the value of your membership and donation if you are a UK tax payer and you make a Gift Aid declaration. Please choose one of the following options:

1. Membership with Gift Aid Declaration (£10)

Please treat all gifts of money that I have made in the past four years and all future gifts of money that I make from the date of this declaration as Gift Aid donations. My address details will be included as part of the online payment notification. I will notify you if my address changes, or if I wish to cancel, or if there is a change in my tax eligibility. I have paid Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year that is at least equal to the amount of tax that The Norwood Society will reclaim on my gifts.

2. Membership only (£10)

I do not wish to make a Gift Aid declaration at the present time but understand that I can make one at a later date if I choose to do so. Choose this option if you do not pay UK tax or if you are donating on behalf of someone else.

3. Membership by Standing Order

Please download our form for Membership Application (PDF) and send the top half to us with a cheque and the bottom half to your bank.

Membership Benefits

Our quarterly journal, The Norwood Review, is free to members. Published four times a year, the magazine includes details of regular activities, planning reports and articles on local history. We positively welcome articles from members.

The Society organises monthly Local History meetings (with the exception of July and August) in the Upper Norwood Library. The full programme may be found on the “events” page. Refreshments are served. A reasonable voluntary donation is much appreciated. During the summer months there is a programme of guided local walks.

Monitoring planning applications is an important aspect of our work. Advice and support are available to members if they are involved in an application themselves or affected directly by a neighbouring development. Member's views on big issues, which affect the area as a whole, are welcomed.
